The 6th IWA Regional Membrane Technology Conference (IWA-RMTC2018)
10th - 12th December 2018
Vadodara, Gujarat, India
A one day Workshop
on 13th December 2018 titled
“Novel frontiers in sustainable treatment of antineoplastic compounds present in domestic and hospital wastewaters”
will be conducted by Prof. Joao Crespo, NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal
This workshop is free for all registered participants of IWA-RMTC 2018.
Over the past few decades tremendous achievements have been made
in the field of membrane technology for water and waste-water
treatment. Currently, membranes are opening up a new era for waste water
treatment and water reuse, have become the most economical
technology to desalinate brackish and seawater, and are an important
technology that can provide barrier to protect public health when
treating water for drinking purpose. With a huge coast line, the market
for membrane technology in India is big. It has become one of the most
active countries in scientific research and industrial applications.
As membrane technologies are competitive, the exchange of
information and cross-collaboration between experts, scientists and
practitioners are fundamental necessity to develop membrane
processes & advance membrane based treatment.
Following Moscow (2008), Istanbul (2010), Buenos Aries (2012), Ho Chi
Minh City (2014) and Kunming City (2016), Vadodara will be the meeting
point for the 6th IWA Regional Conference on Membrane Technology in
2018. We cordially invite you to Vadodara to participate in this
Conference as this event will once again provide a platform for
participants to present results of their latest research, share industrial
experiences, exchange opinions and to expand horizons in the
development of membrane technologies. It will also facilitate
strengthening close professional linkages among membranologists
and water professionals.
Vadodara, known for its cosmopolitan culture, is known as the 'Culture
Capital' of Gujarat State, one of the 29 States of India. We look forward
to meeting you in December 2018. With you and all the members of the
organizing committee and the international scientific committee we
will make this conference a great success.
About the Conference
This conference aims to advance the knowledge and share experiences on membrane technology for water and wastewater treatment. It will provide an
opportunity for water researchers, engineers and experts from colleges, institutes and firms to exchange information and results on the newest
developments and applications of membrane technology.
This event is being jointly organized under the aegis of International Water Association (IWA) by Indian Membrane Society, The Maharaja Sayajirao
University of Baroda & Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers. This conference will cover all the aspects of membrane technologies covering a broad
spectrum of studies wherever membranes are used. These will include new membrane materials, membrane fouling, mechanism of membrane fouling
and its control, membrane processes and their optimization, desalination and its studies for potable water production, waste-water treatment, effluent
water treatment, river water rejuvenation using membrane technologies, resource recovery from waste-water treatment, membrane bio reactors,
membrane based technologies in other industries like dairy industry.
Plenary talks by leading scientists will be delivered. A number of invited talks and selected oral presentations based on novelty are being planned. Best
presentation awards for PhD students are also being organized. A separate session for participants from industry is planned to provide them a platform for
discussing and sharing their experience on new membrane technologies.
